Not working

To fix ImTranslator issues in an Internet Explorer (IE) environment, you must first address a major compatibility change: Internet Explorer has been permanently retired by Microsoft, and modern extensions like ImTranslator no longer natively support standalone IE browsers.

The most effective way to restore functionality is to use Microsoft Edge with IE Mode enabled or to verify classic IE add-on permissions. 1. Enable Third-Party Extensions (Classic IE)

If you are using an older, isolated system with legacy standalone Internet Explorer and the extension has stopped rendering, its background permissions might be disabled. Open Internet Explorer.

Click the Settings Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Internet Options. Navigate to the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the Browsing section. Ensure Enable third-party browser extensions is checked. Click Apply and restart your browser. 2. Run ImTranslator via Microsoft Edge IE Mode

Because modern translation scripts fail on outdated IE engines, the official workaround is to migrate to Microsoft Edge while forcing the specific site to render in IE mode.

Download and install the modern translation extension via the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. Open Edge Settings -> Default Browser.

Toggle Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode to Allow.

When visiting a legacy website, right-click the tab and select Reload tab in Internet Explorer mode. The modern ImTranslator extension can now translate the legacy data safely. 3. Clear the Browser Cache

Corrupted script files often cause the ImTranslator bubble or text field to appear blank.

Open Internet Options (via the Windows Control Panel or IE settings gear).

Under the General tab, look for the Browsing history section.

Click Delete…, check the box for Temporary Internet files and website files, and click Delete. 4. Switch to the Web-Based Tool Just Released | Page 12 of 13 – ImTranslator
